Meet Your Instructors…
Terrie Burian
Terrie has been creating beautiful bracelets, necklaces and earrings for the past eight years. She loves wire wrapping and working with real stones, beads, organics and metals. Her passion is inspired by her love of nature.
Martha Cowan
I’ve been a painter, primarily in oils, for most of my life. Years of education, both through college and in workshops with many other painters, has helped me get to where I am today as an artist. I paint on a daily basis, and show and sell my work through galleries and my website, marthacowanpaintings.com. I love teaching painting and passing along what I know to my students.
Ada Jarvis
Ada Jarvis is self taught in the art of pique assiette (mosaics incorporating broken china, glass, tiles, found items). She teaches workshops in this art and sells pieces in various shops. She also paints with acrylics and oils, preferring minis and glass balls.
Monica Foulston
I began my art journey “officially” in 2016. I bought on old painting and painted right over it. The positive response on social media inspired me to push myself to purchase a quality canvas and materials and create more artwork and I haven’t stopped since. Visit: monicafoulston.com
Deborah Mount
Deborah Mount is a credentialed art teacher for the State of California and works in the Rialto School District as a substitute teacher—primarily for the VAPA teams (Visual and Performing Art) at every elementary school in our district. Before retiring in 1999, she was an Art teacher at Rialto High School for twenty years and currently teaches “part time” at Redlands Art Association and Lake Arrowhead Christian School. As an artist, she is passionate about sharing the visual arts with children knowing this will equip them with lifelong skills and an appreciation for the artwork of others as well as helping them to develop and discover their own talents and creativity. She also feels it is important to learn about art history and the art of many cultures for enrichment. Art is a “visual language” that surpasses barriers of time, culture, genders and language. In addition, it is vital for students to learn the Elements of Art and Principles of Design and develop a foundation for a life-long love of the arts.
Penny Palmer
Penny’s enthusiasm working with clay has been her passion for the past 50 years! Wheel throwing unique and beautiful functional wares, teaching, hand building and running the studio with Nancy are my interests.
Nancy Roeder
Nancy loves hand building pottery and she has been teaching for ten years. Her one of a kind creations have won her a place and prizes in local juried Art shows.
Christy Salazar
Christy Salazar is a wife and mother to 2 adult children who are both married. She’s also a new grandma to the sweetest little boy ever! She has been a public school teacher for many years, teaching 2nd grade and then English Language Intervention. She has taught the 6-9 year old children’s art classes at the RAA for the last year and a half, including many art camps. Christy was born and raised in Redlands, a true native. She took art classes as a child at the RAA and has now come full circle. She enjoys all types of art and crafts, cooking, traveling, gardening, and socializing. Christy said as an art teacher she hopes to inspire creativity in all her students!
