10-25-22 Kathryn Duncan, Golden Paints Watermedia Flow

Redlands Art Association hosts guest artists to educate/entertain us on the 4th Tuesday night of each month, September through May.  Public is welcome – no charge.

On October 25, 7 to 9 pm, Kathryn Elliott Duncan with Golden Artist Colors will present Watermedia Flow. Interesting for both Acrylic and Watercolor painters!  – Golden Artist Colors, manufacturer of Golden Acrylics, QoR watercolors and Williamsburg Oil paints, presents Watermedia Flow: This comprehensive overview of water media applications begins with an in-depth tour of QoR, an amazing line of transparent watercolor with innovative technology at its core. Discover the science in the paint and pigmentation of watercolor.

To Kathryn, the most thrilling part of working with materials is drawing on this knowledge to “solve” artists’ dilemmas when trying to create a specific effect.

Get inspired with water color effects achieved in High Flow and Fluid Acrylics.

Compare traditional gouache to Golden’s new SoFlat!

See hands on demonstrations of a wide range of grounds and substrates, including materials that allow watercolor over nontraditional substrates like wood and Plexiglas.

Additionally, we’ll explore monoprinting techniques, ways to incorporate drawing into watermedia and a variety of mixed media applications.

Fun and informative demo for traditional and non traditional watercolorists alike.

Q & A session afterwards.
