Our annual meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1, 2011. All members are welcome, and in fact, encouraged to attend. This pot-luck dinner will be followed by introduction of new officers and committees, introduction of our Board of Directors, a brief report from MCAEEF (our art education fund committee), and plans for our future including hiring an Executive Director and gallery remodeling plans. If you have ever wondered how the Redlands Art Association really works, this is where you can find out. Our historian will bring lots of information about past RAA events and people and we can page through the old photos and newspaper articles. Again, this dinner will be held on June 1 at the Redlands Unified Church of Christ, 168 Bellevue, Redlands; dinner at 6:00 PM, program at 7:00. Free to all members. Another upcoming event of importance is ‘Redlands Through Our Eyes’, Youth Hope Art Auction and Dinner. It will be held on June 18th at 6:00 PM at the Mitten Building, 345 North 5th Street, Redlands, a fundraiser for helping homeless and under-served youth in Redlands. There will be a dinner catered by Farm Artisan Foods ($75 per person) with cash bar, silent auction of displayed artworks from Youth Hope students, University of Redlands students and community artists, and a live jazz band with dancing. If you are an artist interested in showing your work at this event for a 50% commission, check instructions available at the gallery in just a few days. Anyone for dancing?
