“I’ve always been fascinated with what the human being is capable of creating; so art to me has been a passion or perhaps an obsession. As a career I worked as a graphic designer/illustrator/photographer as well as taught in the public school system.
Today I paint with mostly oils, but also create textiles from my sketches and paintings. I think it’s a way to take my art to another level and I love that challenge.
My textiles evolve a bit on their own as I take a painting from one medium to another. I continue to build up using fabric and thread with free motion embroidery showing texture while leaving the pattern in the fabric design to show through. Each piece is very unique from its construction process to its overall aesthetic appeal.”
