Marly Walters started painting in the 1970’s using mainly oil paints. In the beginning Marly focused on still life and landscape compositions. But as time went by Marly’s art became more and more abstract. As the art changed so too did her use of mediums. She moved into watercolor, acrylic, ink and collage. Now, it is the challenge of the creation that appeals to her. She doesn’t plan what she paints. Instead, she focuses on color, composition, and shapes; and this process seems to unfold into a mess or a beautiful painting. Often, knowing when to stop is the key to a wonderful painting.
