Kadah’s new show Rooted in Resilience is a powerful display of storytelling through art, her artwork reflects a deep connection to place and identity.
“My art is authentic, uncensored. My art is my story,” Kadah said and added, “Music and art are languages on their own. My art, especially abstracts, needs a story. When people know the story, it resonates and it clicks.”
Mona is a California-based watercolor artist with a background in Damascene painting. She transitioned to watercolor for its expressive qualities and has trained with Karin Harris and Holly Warner.
A member of several art associations, she has won awards, including first place at the Coachella Valley Watercolor Society in 2021 and the Demonstrator’s Choice Award in 2024 and 2nd place at Yucaipa Valley Art Association 2025.
Her work is displayed in various galleries, and she focuses on landscapes inspired by California’s beauty, while also creating abstract art reflecting identity and culture. Mona has been involved in community activism through the Palestinian Dabkeh group, Zaytouna, and has taught folk dance. Currently, she is working on collections of abstract Arabic words and intuitive painting of flowers often grown in her garden. Follow Mona @monakadahart.
