Events RAA members may be interested in. The Plein Air Artists of Riverside has the following upcoming events that promise to be interesting:
Program/Demonstration by Plein Air painter Steven Ruiz
Where: Riverside Art Museum at 3425 Mission Inn Avenue, Riverside, CA 92501. www.riversideartmuseum.org
When: Wednesday, January 20, from 6:30 pm-8:30pm
Steven Ruiz is an accomplished Plein Air painter. He participates in both the Joshua Tree Arts community, and the Arts Colony of Pomona. Ruiz and wife, Cory Griffin-Ruiz opened “The Blue Core Gallery,” which features The Blue Core Group: Cory Griffin-Ruiz, Manny LeGaspe, Cathy Garcia, Armando Peralta and Steven Ruiz. Their art receptions are the 2nd Saturday of each month during the Pomona Arts Colony Artwalks.
Steven is donating a piece of art for an opportunity drawing ($1 for one ticket, $5 for eight, and $20 for an arms-length (from one hand to the other). Learn more about Steven Ruiz at his blog: http://www.steveruizpainterslog.com/

Fee: Free for all PAAR members, $5 admission for non-PAAR members (applicable to the $30 fee to join PAAR). PAAR members must also be members of Riverside Art Museum. Membership fees for both RAM and PAAR at the door.

Fifth Annual Paint-Out Week: Feb. 20 through Feb. 28, 2010
The Plein Air Artists of Riverside (PAAR), affiliated with the Riverside Art Museum and the Riverside Arts Council in Riverside, CA, will have its 5th annual Paint-Out Week beginning Saturday, Feb. 20 through Feb. 28, 2010. Artists will paint in Plein Air by recreating various scenes along the beautiful historic Mission Inn Avenue in Riverside and surrounding areas throughout the 9 days. Artists will follow in the tradition of the French Impressionists and capture light and air of the scenes in front of them. Monet had Giverny, we have Mission Inn Avenue!
Cost: All entrants must be members of both PAAR and RAM in order to participate . (Dues can be paid with your registration fees). Non-refundable registration fee for the 9 days of painting and the following 2 months exhibit must be paid by Feb. 10, 2010 to get the discount price of $45. Registration on the first day of painting is $ 65 providing the limit of 75 artists has not been met. Late applicants may not receive all data materials offered to pre-registered artists.
