Workshop Instructor Bios

Ada Jarvis

Ada Jarvis is self taught in the art of pique assiette (mosaics incorporating broken china, glass, tiles, found items). She teaches workshops in this art and sells pieces in various shops. She also paints with acrylics and oils, preferring minis and glass balls.

Monica Foulston

I began my art journey “officially” in 2016. I bought on old painting and painted right over it. The positive response on social media inspired me to push myself to purchase a quality canvas and materials and create more artwork and I haven’t stopped since.  Visit: monicafoulston.com

Deborah Mount

Deborah Mount is a credentialed art teacher for the State of California and works in the Rialto School District as a substitute teacher—primarily for the VAPA teams (Visual and Performing Art) at every elementary school in our district. Before retiring in 1999, she was an Art teacher at Rialto High School for twenty years and currently teaches “part time” at Redlands Art Association and Lake Arrowhead Christian SchoolAs an artist, she is passionate about sharing the visual arts with children knowing this will equip them with lifelong skills and an appreciation for the artwork of others as well as helping them to develop and discover their own talents and creativity.  She also feels it is important to learn about art history and the art of many cultures for enrichment.  Art is a “visual language” that surpasses barriers of time, culture, genders and language. In addition, it is vital for students to learn the Elements of Art and Principles of Design and develop a foundation for a life-long love of the arts.
